2018 World Internet Project meeting is held in France from the 2nd to the 8th of July 2018.
A public conference will be hosted by Sciences Po Paris on the 2nd of July and will gather various actors, both from the scientific, political and institutionnal sphere. The second part of the event, during which several scientific presentations will be made and discussed, mostly by WIP members, will be held in Brest (Brittany) from the 3rd to the 6th of July,.

About the World Internet Project :
The World Internet projet is an international, collaborative research project in which several institutions from more than 30 different countries of all continents are involved. It originated at the UCLA Center for Communication Policy (now the USC Annenberg School Center for the Digital Future) and was founded with the NTU School of Communication Studies in Singapore and the Osservatorio Internet Italia at Bocconi University in Milan, Italy.
Based at universities and research institutes around the world, the WIP conducts detailed research, generates a wealth of publications and holds annual conferences looking at the impact of these new technologies. The WIP is committed to sharing the results of its work with leaders in the policy, government and business communities as well as with journalists, parents, teachers and any interested citizens.

L’édition 2018 des rencontres annuelles du World Internet Project se tiendront en France du 2 au 6 juillet 2018.
La première partie de ce réseau de chercheurs de plus de 30 nationalités se déroulera à paris (2 et 3 juillet) et rassemblera des acteurs des milieux scientifique et institutionnel. Les journées suivantes auront lieu à Brest, où seront présentées et discutées des communications scientifiques.
Un programme plus détaillé sera communiqué ultérieurement.
Le World Internet Project (WIP)
Le World Internet Project est un projet international collaboratif de recherche associant des institutions de plus d’une trentaine de pays sur tous les continents. Il est né au Center for Communication Policy de l’UCLA (Université de Californie à Los Angeles) et a été fondé avec l’École NTU (études de la communication) de Singapour et avec l’observatoire Osservatorio Internet Italia de l’Université Bocconi de Milan (Italie).
Le réseau WIP rassemble des centres de recherche, qui, dans le monde entier, consacrent leurs travaux à l’analyse des transformations sociales, économiques et politiques liées à l’évolution des usages numériques.
L’objectif principal du WIP est de s’accorder sur une batterie de questions communes à intégrer dans des enquêtes nationales, afin de se doter d’indicateurs comparables à l’échelle internationale. Les questions communes ont été rediscutées en 2015 à l’occasion de la rencontre annuelle à Taïwan. Ce sont ces questions que M@rsouin a intégré dans son enquête nationale sur les usages numériques, réalisée en 2016 dans le cadre du projet ANR Capacity, et en partenariat avec l’Agence du numérique.
